Our advance joiners for the latest new
building delivery LPG Rugby League arrived at the
Japanese Yard and have completed the sea trial scheduled on 31st
July 2002 .We have the latest pictures from our attending Technical Superintendent Mr. M.Chawla in this
issue of our monthly bulletin . Rest of the crew are arriving at
the yard on 2nd august ,The vessel will sail out on her maiden
voyage on August 8 2002.
SAMUNDRA INSTITUTE OF MARITIME STUDIES
We are proud to announce another milestone in our
company’s history with the opening of our training institute
Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies at Mumbai, India. The
institute is located at the following address:
05th Floor, Sai Commercial Center, Govandi
Station Road, Mumbai 400088
The
space is being spruced up and decorated to be ready for action
from September, 2002. The two initial courses to be offered
are Specialized Training For Chemical Tankers and Specialized
Training for Liquefied Gas Tankers which are being
prepared as per the IMO model course 1.04 and 1.06
respectively. Additionally ,participants will be given ship
specific training with the help of the training videos being
prepared on real life situations on board .Both the courses
will be DG approved. Initially
prepared to cater to the officers of the company, facilities
will be made open to the candidates from outside at a later
stage .

SHIFTING OF CREWING SECTION OF ESM, MUMBAI.
To
cater to our ongoing expansion , we are shifting part of ESM,
Mumbai from the existing office at Nariman Point to Sai
Commercial Center near Govandi Station Road . The
new office will exclusively take care of the selection
of ratings and scheduled to start operating from the new
address with
effect from 2nd of September,2002. Our new address

Congratulations to Trainee Engineer
Rohan Dhanraj Naik who has bagged the Gold medal from the
Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Singapore
for topping the diploma holders in three year Marine
Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic this year.

Rohan presently sailing in one of our
bulk carriers M.V. Sanko Rejoice has bagged three more
prestigious awards from (1)
Keppel Corporation prize, (2) Singapore Maritime
Officers’ Union prize and also (3) Singapore Shipping
Association prize for his outstanding merit.
