The year 2006 brought with it a lot of fun and family gatherings celebrated under various ESM offices. Both ESM, Singapore and ESM, Cochin threw lavish entertainment and parties for their shore as well as sailing staff along with their families during the month of January.

In both parties, the family members including children joined in full force which made the fun all the more meaningful and poignant. Indeed , these events are just a small way through
which we show our sincere appreciation to a silent and otherwise unrecognized support and cooperation of a family behind the success of each member of our staff. Not confining ourselves to fun and entertainment, painting competitions for the children on “Safety” also drew big attention to the company’s thrust on safety and environmental issues while encouraging the budding artistes among us! Congratulations to all those talented children and their proud parents.

Keeping fully committed to our goal of “Zero Injuries and Zero Spills”, our HSEQA department has started a two-month long “Mooring Safety Campaign” involving all vessels under the fleet. This is to enhance awareness of our staff towards mooring safety and eliminate personal injuries from mooring operations.

We seek wholehearted support and full co-operation from all quarters in ensuring success of this campaign and work towards our goal of “Zero Injuries”.

The Campaign is being run from 15-January to 15-March 2006.

The objectives of the Mooring Safety Campaign
are stated as follows:
To communicate our goal to all our employees - "Zero Personal Injuries" on board our ships.
To enhance awareness of our staff towards safe working practices during mooring and unmooring of ships.

To seek feedback from all quarters - especially staff on board our ships for innovative methods to enhance mooring safety.

To implement new measures identified during the campaign to achieve our goal.
