BP CEO Visits SIMS Lonavala
“An astonishing transformation! From an extraordinary vision to a world-class facility.”

Those were the words of Mr. David Baldry, Group Vice President & Chief Executive of BP Shipping Ltd, when he made a visit to the SIMS pre-sea campus at Lonavala with two other representatives from BP, Mr. Gavin Kramer (Regional Director, Asia Pacific) and Mr. Ashok Jhawar (BP Head of Country, India). The visit on 30th January 2008, was Mr. Baldry’s second visit to the institute and the first since its inauguration and the first for Mr. Kramer and Mr. Jhawar.

Mr. Baldry took the salute during a parade and march past by the cadets and was greatly impressed by the cadets observing their evident progress in just a short time. The team was also unequivocally impressed with the facilities and infrastructure of the campus as they had a first-hand experience of what the campus can provide the cadets while they were taken for a tour of the 55-acre campus.

The team left the following comments lauding the institute:

"It has been a great privilege to have had the chance to visit this fantastic facility that has been created in what is a wonderful location. With this being only my second visit to India, this visit has given me a thirst to revisit and see more of this remarkable place. Mr Teeka, you have created something very special here and I wish you and your team all the very best for success in your venture and I am delightful that we are there to play a part in it."
- Mr. Gavin Kramer, Regional Director (Asia Pacific, BP Shipping Ltd., UK)

“Wow! What a great facility!!! This is truly a world-class facility with excellent equipment and environment. It makes me want to be young again so that I can attend such a place of learning – this comes from someone who had the opportunity to attend IIT Kharagpur! This place is a testament to the vision of Mr. Teeka and his wife. I am delighted to have the opportunity to see this”
- Mr. Ashok Jhawar (BP Head of Country, India)
