SAMUNDRA INSTITUTE OF MARITIME STUDIES (SIMS)

We are happy to announce the following training programs  for the forthcoming session in SIMS. The courses will be strictly for the in-house sailing staff and apart from those lined up already, others interested may also contact any of the ESM offices or SIMS directly for entry into the programme.

TOPICS:

1 Dynamics of Port State Control Inspection

2. Preparedness for Oil Major Inspection                 

OBJECTIVE:            

After attending the above modular training program, trainees   will build up their level of awareness/confidence towards Port State Control & Oil Major Inspections.

Trainees will be able to Identify/Assess/ Evaluate potential hazards
Deficiencies on board the vessel, and take corrective action,
Demonstrate the high standard for ESM’S  Safety & Environment  Protection policy.

TARGET GROUP:  

a) Deck Officers, Cadets, 3^rd Eng Officer, Elect officer
b) Deck and Engine Crew

TIMING:

1^st  batch from  7^th to 10^th  October 02
2^nd  batch from 17^th to 20^th  October 02

Each modular course will be of 2 days duration, 8 hrs per day, starting 9 AM through 5PM with breaks for tea/lunch

Day -1- Port State Control – Till Lunch for Officers/After Lunch Officers& Crew.
Day -2- Port state Control – Full day for Officers and Crew.
Day -3- Oil Major Inspection-Till Lunch for Officers / After Lunch Officers& Crew.
Day -4- Oil Major Inspection – Full day for Officers & Crew.
