A healthy twist to the traditional palak paneer, this version uses minimal oil and incorporates whole wheat flour to thicken the gravy, making it a nutritious option without compromising on taste.

Ingredients you'll need

  • Spinach - 2 bunches
  • Paneer - 100 gm
  • Ginger, garlic & green chilly crushed – 1 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • Wheat flour - 1 tsp
  • Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cinamon clove powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Heeng (Asafoetida) - 1/2 tsp
  • Gram masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Lemon juice as per taste

Instructions


  1. Wash and drain spinach, boil in minimal water till it became soft and bright.

  2. Drain, cool and grind with flour, ginger, garlic and green chillies.

  3. Heat on non-stick pan, add cumin seed when roasted add heeng and grind spinach.

  4. Add all other ingredients expect paneer and lemon juice. Stir cover and simmer for 3-4 minutes.

  5. Add paneer and lemon juice, stir gently for 2 minutes, pour into serving dish.

  6. Serve hot with steamed rice.
